I first found the opportunity to take photos through the Simmer Brown Comedy Show. I had brought my camera, as a guest, and took photos for pleasure. The cast members thoroughly enjoyed my photos and brought me on full time! Through this event I gained the experience and knowledge that gave me the ability to capture photos at different types of events as well as learn the art of the headshot.
Headshots became a staple in my portfolio for a long time. I worked with comedians and musicians, as well as models. Figuring out what kind of look the client had in mind and locations that worked well for the client was a welcomed challenge.
Following my stint in the comedy scene and continuing with headshots, I started working with businesses and honed my skills at product photography. Directing food and restaurant/office spaces to best market what they had to offer.
My Approach
I love candid shots that capture the raw emotion of the moment. Whether it be a headbanger at a music concert to a certain look during a headshot gig. Capturing the emotions in that moment make me smile. I usually take many more photos than necessary, including the photos the client asks for plus shots that I personally enjoyed.
